S.W.O.T Analysis

SWOT.png

Strengths

I have been a part of sports all of my life and it has taught me many lessons that I translate into the work that I do. Some skills I have used that will be useful in my career is how to work hard to achieve my goals, resilience, and teamwork. I have been a captain on my team prior to playing collegiate volleyball, and it has given me the ability to develop into a leader. This has allowed me to be able to communicate to a group of people in order to reach one common goal. I have had some experience with coaching, so I am able to teach and guide people to improve in a task they are doing. I am a very competitive person and will try my best to be successful. With being involved in collegiate athletics and also being a full time student, I have learned the importance of time management. It can be challenging between class, practice and lifts, and homework, but I always finish my tasks on time with my best efforts.

Weaknesses

Since I do play volleyball at such a high level, it has taken away my ability to get work experience. I have always been training all year round and have been unable to make connections outside of the volleyball world. I worry that this could set me back from others also competing for the same jobs I may want. Another one of my weaknesses is that I am very self-critical. I can become easily frustrated with myself if I am doing something I may not be the best at. I am also very indecisive on the route I want to take in business. I am not confident in what area of business I want to pursue. I am not a very creative person, I am able to complete tasks that are assigned to me, but I struggle with coming up with new original ideas that can be used in a company.

Opportunities

Since I do not have any particular realm of business I want to go into, I am open to trying new experiences. I have coached only younger girls, but I have been on a staff with adults, so I am able to work with any age group. I also enjoy traveling and have been traveling all around due to sports, so I am confident in my ability to travel to different states. This could be beneficial if I have to go do business in different areas in the country.

Threats

I am very close to my family, so I would prefer being closer to them, but if I did get an opportunity that I really wanted I would be willing to move far to pursue it. Another threat is competitors having more work experience than I do, so I would have to have more training than someone who has worked previously.
