Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy
Coaching Miniclub
During this experience, I was able to coach volleyball to a team of 8 year olds. I would have to create practice plans, and run practices every week and then compete in tournaments on the weekends. I needed to use my communication skills too many different types of people, including parents, young girls, and other coaches. While creating a practice plan I needed to be creative and create drills that the girls would have fun participating in, but also would improve in their skills. I taught them not only skills on the court, but how to be a team player and have good work ethic.
Club Volleyball Tryouts
I had the opportunity to assist Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy with their tryouts for their teams of 12 year olds through 18 year olds. I had the job to evaluate different girls on their skills, and try to help place them on the team they would best fit in with. To start, I collected data on each girl about their speed and vertical jump, then later organized them and lead them into drills that would show us the skills that they had to offer.
